To mark the centenary of the death of Welsh poet Hedd Wyn, who was killed on the battlefields of Flanders on 31 July 1917, you are cordially invited to a special performance of Y Gadair Wag (The Empty Chair / An Chathaoir Fholamh) at the Irish Writers Centre, Dublin, on Wednesday 13 September 2017. The evening is held in association with the Irish Writers Centre and Poetry Ireland.
Bringing together poetry, film and experimental techniques, this new show by Ifor ap Glyn, National Poet of Wales, explores themes of loss and identity through the life and work of Hedd Wyn and other poets of the First World War, including Irish poet Francis Ledwidge.
